Have you connected with God lately? Have you found time to praise Him who is worthy? Have you prayed today?
I encourage you to spend at least half an hour in the presence of God today. Find a quiet spot where the distractions of the world aren’t going to interrupt. A spot where it can be just you and God. Feel His presence around you as you praise Him. Talk to Him in prayer and feel His love wash over you.
Here’s some suggestions:
– Sit in silence and meditate. Pick a passage from the Bible and think about its meaning. Think about how you can apply it to your life and what you can do to show the world God’s love. You can even pick something as simple as the word “love”. Come to a deeper understanding of God’s word.
– Talk to God in prayer. Tell Him about your day: what you found exciting, what troubled you, what you are grateful for, etc. Have an actual conversation with God. This means that you need to listen to God too. It shouldn’t be a one-sided conversation.
– Put some worship music on. Close your eyes, listen to the lyrics of the songs and feel God’s presence.
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me – put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. ~ Philippians 4:4-9
