I remember back to my first year of university. To put it simply, I was terrified. The university seemed huge and the idea of meeting new people was overwhelming. And in addition to all of that, I was moving away from home. It was a huge transition at the time.
I remember relying on God that first week. And because I did, God did so many things for me. He really pulled me through that first week.
So what did God do for me? Ultimately, He helped me adjust to living on my own and to get use to the university life. I was worried that I wouldn’t meet anyone but God had that covered. Many people started conversations with me. Being shy, I didn’t approach anyone but God brought them all to me. He gave me two good friends that week with many more to come throughout the rest of the year. To help with the moving out part, God put one of these new friends I made on the same floor in the residence as me.
My first year of university was amazing. I had so much fun and learned a lot. The reason? God was with me! He never left me. When I was scared, He was there. When I was worried, He showed me that everything was going to work out alright. He answered my prayers.
So when you feel scared, alone, or worried don’t forget that God is with you. Rely on God! He will never leave nor forsake you.
