Have you ever noticed that male cats tend to walk in a zig zag pattern? You can’t walk because this cat keeps walking in front of you. They end up looking insane and you just get frustrated. The point is male cats like to control. They want your attention and don’t want you to walk away from them.
Should God have to try this hard to get our attention? Do we need to see something that is so unmistakably from God to stop and listen to what He’s trying to tell us?
John 4:48 says, “‘Unless you people see miraculous signs and wonders,’ Jesus told him, ‘you will never believe.’”
Moreover, Thomas doubted Jesus’ resurrection. He had to see Him and feel the nail marks in His hands to believe (John 20:25).
Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” ~ John 20:29
God works in so many ways. We see Him healing and using people to do His work. He answers prayers. These things are all amazing!
But what about the times when we don’t see miraculous signs and wonders? Is our faith going to fail? Do we need to see another miracle to reassure us of God’s existence?
Even in these times, we need to have faith. We shouldn’t need to see to believe. After all, that’s what real faith is!
So, believe not because of God’s miraculous signs and wonders but because of His great love! Because of His mercy and grace! Because He loves you! Have faith that He’s there!
